Web Developer/Programmer
We have an immediate need for a highly qualified and experienced person to join our hard-working team. You should be comfortable in a small team, working in an agile environment and not be afraid of challenging ideas. This is a 10 month contract, full time position with potential for permanent employment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience developing, testing, deploying and maintaining open source interactive web applications (including REST API's)
- Experience with Ruby/Python/Perl
- Flash/ActionScript experience is not required but would be a bonus (hey, we're an animation company)
- Knowledge of OO design patterns, refactoring and unit testing (RSpec experience preferred)
- Ability to work collaborative, in a team environment and independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in open-source and advanced Internet technologies
- Other experience: Unix/Linux command line/ Subversion / Git / etc.
Additional bonus skills and background
- Real-world experience with Agile engineering practices (test-driven development, object-oriented design, refactoring) and project management practices (Scrum teamwork, User Story development and estimation)
- Post-secondary degree in Computing Science or related program with software development options.
